      This is a passive device so there is no amplification. But far worse, it only plays in 1 ear of a stereo-headphone set. The spec of the device is that the jack socket is stereo (i.e. TRS), so the electronics inside and the physical socket should work with stereo headphones, but it clearly does not (tested with 2 different sets of phones).
