Pirastro Oliv strings are finely wound gut strings wound with metal wire for extra sound colours. These strings are ideal if youre looking to explore more traditional sounds on your instrument. Each string is made of sheep gut and is traditionally made by meticulously polishing and winding by hand. The strings are then each wound with metal chosen specifically to bring out the tonal colours of the individual string. The E string being a high string is made of a steel core with gold plating around it. The remainder of the strings all features the handmade gut core.
