The Yamaha Bobby Shew Lead Trumpet Mouthpiece offers excellent playability in the upper registers and is ideally suited for playing jazz. A very shallow cup depth and medium sized rim diameter offers easy blowing and excellent clarity in the upper registers whilst the medium small throat delivers slightly more blowing resistance leading to a crisp and powerful response throughout the range of the instrument. The semi flat rim shape makes for a more comfortable playing experience especially during long sessions. This mouthpiece from the Yamaha Signature Series has been produced in collaboration with American jazz royalty Bobby Shew. Mr. Shew has been active on the scene since the 1960s having played trumpet with the Woody Herman and Buddy Rich big bands.
