The SOMA Laboratory Flux is for composers and performers wanting hands in air synth expression.Inspired by the theremin idea but built on magnetic sensing Flux uses two handheld magnetic bows and a multi polar sensor surface. Your right hand controls pitch along a clearly marked piano style scale while distance to the centre line sets volume. Flip the bow to shift octaves and you can reach six continuous octaves without moving a transposition setting. The left hand shapes timbre with sensors that can read magnetic strength and polarity so flipping the bow can swap the parameter set you are controlling. Flux runs DSP based synthesis engines with built in spatial effects and high end digital to analog conversion plus analog circuitry.
